Don’t let the location near Ogborne St George, on the outskirts of Swindon, fool you. This crop circle on the Barbury Estate is a nightmare to get to. You either traipse down The Ridgeway from Barbury Castle for a mile or more, or you park up outside the village of Draycot Foliat and pick your way through fields and climb a steep hill. The Croppie chose the latter only to find himself on the side of Britain’s steepest hillside with a rather unhappy farmer in a tractor warning me not to trespass. Oh well, the view alone was worth the trek.
