Video: Crop Circle Communique
Crop Circle Communique is film maker John Macnish’s 1991 attempt to make sense of the crop circle phenomenon through wide eyes. Of course, Macnish would go on to produce a follow up that was more much revealing, alongside his book Crop Circle Apocalypse, but Crop Circle Communique is a fantastic snapshot of the theories, themes and thinking that enveloped the circles world at the time. The big name cerealogists of the time all feature, most notably Colin Andrews who hits full dramatic flow to deliver his most memeworthy line ever: ‘Mother is crying’.
Narration is provided by the late Paul Vaughan, who will forver be known as the haunting voice-over on BBC’s apocalyptic drama Threads.
