A field next to a modern housing development on the edge of Devizes isn’t the most obvious place to put a crop circle. Who could want houses and urban sprawl in the background of their images? Yet the circle makers are often able to provide us with pleasant surprises. This field is in a far more appealing environment than the aerial photos may suggest. Indeed, it’s a wonderfully rural location next to the Kennett and Avon Canal. This gorgeous locality hasn’t reached out to the houses … they were put there by someone who should have known better.

As for the circle itself, the lay is mesmerising…
